Introductory Note
We cannot award a
formal qualification -- that is what colleges do -- although we DO award a training certificate AND
designation 'MQST' (Member of Quantity Surveying
Training)---- please see Sample Certificate and our
Mission Statement
It is
absolutely vital that all ‘employees / job applicants / students etc’ are
proficient in the use of EXCEL (Microsoft’s spreadsheet program) --- NOT to a
particularly high standard but sufficient to deal with the normal day to day
activities in an office environment. See note lower down the screen.
Our expertise is in training
to do the job -- our Excel take off system has been entirely developed by
us and the training includes this aspect as well -- it is very user friendly
and makes the work much easier and enjoyable.
When taking off
quants from drawings the only 'pens' needed are highlighters to mark what has
been measured.
You may need help
with a 'live project' and need to send queries regarding problems encountered
-- that is ok with us.
'Qualifications' are
one thing but 'being capable at doing the job' is another.

Each Pack has
drawings and sketches to explain the construction involved,
completed
quantities in Excel format, notes as appropriate, advice regarding commercial
decisions and procedures plus a blank Excel take-off spreadsheet for you to
practice inputting data.
Method of measurement
Commercial Quantities
This is our own term
for the system used by us -- it is a fastrack method of producing quantities to
enable tenders to be completed. Everyone now is in such a rush to complete work
there is not time spare for the rather exacting requirements of SMM7
The difference is --
this system can be used 'world-wide' !
Course procedure
You must have a
computer, an email address and 'Excel' (the spreadsheet program) or a compatible
program.
All of our documents
are produced in Excel and protected by our Copyright.
No documents may be
passed on to a third party whatsoever.
Documents sent out
are protected by a password which you will be given at the time.
It must be emphasised
that Quantities in the beginning is
no 'easy ride' -- it takes a great deal of study and practice.
If, when studying,
you get stuck, simply send an email with the query. we need to set a 'time
limit' on submitting queries --- this is 3 months after issue of a lesson.
COST (
The
cost is £25 per Lesson.

As many queries as
you wish can be submitted to help you learn the subject.
